Aims & Scope

Ekonomický časopis/Journal of Economics is a peer-reviewed open-access scientific journal. It provides a platform for topics related to socio-economic development and economic policy in the European Union, with a particular focus on the Central European region and an emphasis on the Slovak economy and national economic research. The journal prioritizes contemporary topics in macroeconomic and microeconomic research within the context of major trends such as the economic impacts of the financial crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the war in Ukraine, as well as technological changes (energy transformation, digitalization, robotics/automation, and artificial intelligence), climate change and its effects on socio-economic development, the process of globalization/deglobalization, global financial stability, European integration, macroeconomic developments, monetary and fiscal policy, inflation, regional development, structural reforms, and new methodological approaches in machine and deep learning and their applications in economics and economic policy.
