Scientific Society of the Silicate Industry (SZTE) · Hungary · Est. 1949
Aims & Scope
Építőanyag – Journal of Silicate Based and Composite Materials publishes original research papers, review articles, case studies, short communications and letters dealing with all aspects of the science and technology of ceramics and composite materials. The journal has several particular objectives. It intends to promote a better understanding of ceramics and composite materials on a wide range within and beyond construction materials, provide a forum for recent advances in materials science and review the latest developments of sustainable materials. The fields which the journal aims to cover are: developments in the processing of materials and advancements in manufacturing, design aspects together with the progress in analytical methods and modelling, material properties and engineering performance, microstructural characterisation and focus on novel experimental techniques, applications and in situ behaviour, environmental influences and service life aspects. Inorganic materials are in the main focus of the journal that covers ceramics, cements, concretes, natural and artificial stones, soil and rock, glass, mortars and bricks, ceramic composites, cement composites, reinforced concretes, recycled materials and by-products however, a wide range of organic materials also fits to the interest of the journal including polymers, sealants, adhesives, heat insulating materials, timber, organic fibres or bio-composites. Aim of the journal is to serve as bridge between academic researchers in various fields of materials science, practicing engineers and designers as well as manufacturers and fabricators. All manuscripts are subject to rigorous peer review before publication to ensure their high standard both in content and presentation. The Editorial Board aims to run the review procedure with the minimum of delay to be able to provide prompt publication.
