Aims & Scope

The Historische Zeitschrift (HZ) stands for excellent German-language historical scholarship. The essay section deals with aspects from all areas of history; there is no regional ore pochal focus. A detailed books review section, reviews article on current trends and debates and a list of publications submitted for review keep readers up to date with the latest developments in German and international historical research. The journal offers both established historians and outstanding young academics the widest possible dissemination of their research findings.
