Aims & Scope
About the Journal Focus and Scope Les/Wood publishes original research articles and review papers that examine the broad field of wood science and technology. Subject areas include the complete forest-wood supply chain from various aspects, including wood as a material, and wood as a part of cultural heritage. Based in Slovenia, Les/Wood clearly combines locally oriented research with the original research results from neighbouring countries and elsewhere in Europe, as well as beyond to broaden this national focus. Les/Wood is a diamond open-access, international peer-reviewed scientific journal published twice a year by the University of Ljubljana Press and issued by the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia . Submitted articles must focus on wood science and technology, material and environmental sciences, wood products, wood management, wood in cultural heritage, and design. Subjects that will be considered outside of that scope include, but are not limited to, forestry, archaeology, economics and organizational sciences, and plant sciences. The journal also publishes editorials and an occasional “News” section for its readership. The journal is governed by an Editorial Team (editor-in-chief, managing editor and technical editor) in cooperation with the International Editorial Board, consistent with the mission of the journal. Les/Wood was launched as an open access journal in 2017. The series has one volume with two issues per year. The journal is issued in print (ISSN: 0024-1067) and online (2590-9932). Les/Wood continues the legacy of the journal Les: revija za lesno gospodarstvo , (ISSN 0024-1067) which was published continuously from 1949 until 2013. Ownership Les/Wood is a non-profit, society-owned academic journal published by University of Ljubljana Press on behalf of its owner, the University of Ljubljana, Biotechnical Faculty (Jamnikarjeva 101, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia).
