The journal deals with German Linguistics, German Literary Studies and German Medieval studies. All issues of LiLi are published alternately as thematic issues of modern literary studies, medieval studies and linguistics, with a focus on media and cultural studies and combining theoretical and historical approaches. The "Laboratory" section publishes research articles that are independent of the thematic issue and are located in the transitional area between German linguistics, German literature and cultural studies.
