Aims & Scope

Ensayos de Economía is a journal of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, sede Medellín, founded in 1990. It represents the effort and initiative of a group of professors to have a medium of expression in which to publish academic and scientific works from the national and international academic community. Its objective is to disseminate both theoretical and applied work with an emphasis on the analysis of reality, the provision of empirical evidence, and the formulation of economic policies. This initiative is supported by the belief that economic analysis provides the necessary tools for the knowledge of the national and international economy, as well as policies that overcome poverty and inequality, and that allow building the foundations for a freer and more democratic society. The journal Ensayos de Economía is aimed at all people interested in theoretical and empirical studies of economic science. Thus, it is of interest to economists, undergraduate and graduate students and teachers, and researchers in economics or related fields. Likewise, it is an open forum for all theoretical traditions existing in economic theory and for major cutting-edge debates. In this sense, all contributions are relevant.
