Aims & Scope

CardioVascular and Interventional Radiology (CVIR) is an official journal of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) and is also the official organ of a more than 20 distinguished national and international interventional radiological societies. Reflecting at the history of IR, CVIR was established in 1978 as the first of its kind and has been a reliable partner, chronicling the evolution of this dynamic field since its inception. CVIR publishes double blinded peer-reviewed original research including clinical and laboratory investigations, short communications, case reports, study protocols, letters to the editor, review articles, editorials, and special invited submissions in the field of vascular and interventional radiology. Focus will be given to the following fields of interventional radiology: embolization, vascular oncology, ablation, aortic interventions and arterial revascularization, venous interventions, non-vascular interventions, paediatric IR, neurointerventions and artificial intelligence. Review manuscripts, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, high quality original scientific research and randomized trials are the publishing priorities of CVIR. CVIR serves a vast readership, across various medical specialties over the globe, allowing all physicians active in IR to publish rapidly, with wide visibility in the field of medicine. CVIR is where you can read, learn, and publish the most relevant, high-quality, up-to-date scientific achievements in the field of IR. Beside the communication of the latest research results in this field, it is also the aim of CVIR to support continuous medical education.
