Historia Mexicana
Colegio de Mexico, A.C., Departamento de Publicaciones · Mexico · Est. 1951
Aims & Scope
Historia Mexicana is the journal of the Center for Historical Studies of El Colegio de México. Founded in 1951, it is one of the oldest Mexican journals specialized in the investigation of the past. It is a reference for historical research in Mexico and Latin America. For seven decades, it has remained faithful to the objective proposed by its founders: to publish original works based on research of the highest academic level, in order to contribute to the dissemination, updating, and renewal of historical knowledge of the Mexican and Latin American past. Historia Mexicana is open to comparative analyses with realities and processes that have developed in other latitudes, mainly in the Hispanic world. Furthermore, it considers it essential not only to disseminate but also to promote historiographical debate around themes, works, and authors that have contributed substantially to deepening and broadening the frontiers of historical research. The journal publishes articles, book reviews, and critical essays on documentary sources and historical works. Occasionally, it publishes monographic issues and thematic dossiers. All collaborations published in Historia Mexicana are subjected to a rigorous peer review process involving national and international academics of recognized prestige.
