Aims & Scope

Estudios Demográficos y Urbanos is a scientific journal specialized in the analysis and reflection on population, urban, and environmental issues in Latin America, with an emphasis on Mexico, from the perspective of the social sciences. Since its creation in 1986, it has been one of the main forums for discussion in its areas of expertise. It is published continuously and in open access, in PDF, HTML, audio, Kindle, and Epub formats. All its sections are subject to peer review. Its predecessor is the journal Demografía y Economía, founded in 1967 (its collection is also included). The journal is edited by the Center for Demographic, Urban, and Environmental Studies (CEDUA) of El Colegio de México.
