Aims & Scope

Estudios Económicos is a scientific peer reviewed journal published on behalf of theCenter for Economic StudiesatEl Colegio de México. Founded in 1986, Estudios Económicos is now well established as one of the leading economics journals in Latin America. The journal publishes empirical and theoretical research in all areas of economics, and particularly welcomes studies focused on Mexico and Latin America. The journal’s audience is not only comprised of academic institutions, but also includes central banks, government departments, and international organizations. Estudios Económicos publishes articles in both English and Spanish and enforces a rigorous double-blind peer review process and anti-plagiarism policy. The journal invites submissions of full-length articles and shorter notes. The journal does not publish book reviews. Occasionally, the journal publishes special issues on selected topics of interest. There are no submission fees and no publication fees or article processing charges. There are two issues per year, published in both open access electronic and print versions.
