Aims & Scope

The journal has been interested over the past thirty years in topics related to constitutional and parliamentary law, sociology, history, and political theory, and, in general, in any intellectual reflection that approaches the understanding of Parliament and its history. With the commemoration of the xl anniversary of the approval of the Magna Carta, in December 2018, the Journal is revitalized and adapted to new times, by opting for an open access policy, without restrictions, and free reading of its contents from the moment of publication, aiming for greater dissemination of knowledge linked to constitutional democracy. It also adds electronic publication to paper publication, within the Open Journal System (OJS) electronic system, to facilitate its use and reading by those familiar with a more traditional model of consultation, as well as by those who prefer current digital media. The OJS system streamlines editorial processes and guarantees compliance with the highest quality standards. Finally, its sections are organized into three that have been of greatest interest to the public from an interdisciplinary point of view: 'Articles', 'Reviews and profiles', and 'Reports and commented parliamentary jurisprudence', in which the traditional Bulletin of Constitutional Jurisprudence has been integrated, which, from now on, commented, is part of the Journal. A fourth section has also been added: 'Classics of democracy'. Parliamentary democracy in the 21st century faces problems and challenges characteristic of the evolution of political systems and the human condition itself: the pages of the Journal are open and grateful to those who wish and can contribute their reflection on the matter.
