Aims & Scope

XVII-XVIII is an annual international peer-reviewed journal, publishing works in French and English on the 17th and 18th-century Anglophone world, where the major issues of modern and contemporary Western civilization were forged. Its scientific scope extends, for the British Isles and the Empire, from the Jacobean period to the end of the so-called "long 18th century", and for America, from the constitution of the Thirteen Colonies to the independence of the United States and the beginnings of the Young Republic, and covers the fields of literature, history, art, history of ideas and mentalities (political, scientific, economic, aesthetic, philosophical...).
