Aims & Scope
Leprosy Reviewis an Open Access peer-reviewed journal including original papers on all aspects of leprosy. Topics published include research into the medical, physical and social aspects of leprosy and information relevant to leprosy control. We publish original research, short reports, case studies and reviews. The vision of the journal is to improve the management and control of leprosy and its consequences, by publishing relevant research and sharing experiences and best practices. The journal is freely available online. The main aim of the journal is to contribute to a better understanding of leprosy and its control. Original papers on all aspects of leprosy, including research, are accepted. In addition,Leprosy Reviewseeks to publish information of educational value which is of direct benefit to the control of leprosy under field conditions and hence to the individual patient. The Journal aims to interpret what is being done in other disciplines, particularly for field workers. From time to time the Editorial Board invites special articles or editorials from experts in various parts of the world and gives consideration to the production of a supplement or special number devoted to a particular subject or theme of major importance. Articles which help to promote the education of leprosy to the community, and how to help control and contain the disease are encouraged. Frequency: Quarterly (March, June, September and December)The journal is indexed in: The Journal started in 1928 as an information booklet,Leprosy Notes, for the British Empire Leprosy Relief Association (BELRA). The title ofLeprosy Reviewwas first used in 1930 – the word “Empire” appearing last in issue Number 2 of Volume XXVIII, April 1957. The journal has been published quarterly since the above date without interruption and is now the only printed, peer-reviewed English language leprosy journal. Circulation is about 1800 and the distribution covers 113 countries mainly in leprosy-endemic areas.
