Su objetivo es difundir trabajos redactados en castellano, que aborden aspectos clínicos o experimentales dentro de la Medicina que puedan considerarse de utilidad e interés para la comunidad científica. Dichos trabajos habrán de ser inéditos, cumplir los requisitos uniformes para las publicaciones biomédicas y estar comprendidos en algunas de las secciones de la revista.
