Revista Espanola de Antropologia Americana
Universidad Complutense Madrid · Spain
Aims & Scope
The REAA publishes primarily in Spanish, but texts in French, English and Portuguese may be accepted. Articles should refer to research on Anthropology of America. REAA is committed to and favors content that deals with transversal themes, broad projection, and general reflection on Anthropology of America. The editorial line, therefore, reserves the right not to admit purely descriptive studies. Articles will be original, with a maximum length of 20 pages (see section 2), including notes, graphics, tables, and bibliography. Original works exceeding these dimensions will be rejected. The number of images will depend on their relevance in each of the texts, as well as the criteria established by the Editorial Board (see section 9). Notes will have a maximum length of 10 pages and will include news or comments on research, events, or publications related to the journal's theme, as well as profiles of prominent figures in American Anthropology. Reviews will have a maximum length of 5 pages and will be dedicated to analyzing books related to the themes covered by REAA. Numbers with a common theme will be published in the second semester issue and will be grouped around several articles with a common theme, coordinated by one or more editors. These articles will have the same length and characteristics as those applied to the "Articles" section (see section 1.1.). The proposal for a thematic volume must be accompanied by a detailed index of the same, with the names of the authors, titles, and abstracts of each text. Likewise, a justification of the relevance and importance of the volume must be sent to the Editorial Board. Its acceptance or rejection will follow the same quality criteria assigned to articles, so that contributions may be rejected by the Editorial Board and/or external reviewers. Once its publication is accepted, the volume must be preceded by an introduction that develops the most important points of the discussion raised in it. The volume coordinators will be responsible for ensuring that the articles reach the Editorial Board in accordance with the norms established by REAA for their publication.
