Aims & Scope

Thalassia Salentinaè la rivista della Stazione di Biologia Marina di Porto Cesareo, fondata insieme con essa nel 1966.Le finalità di questo periodico sono state principalmente quelle di essere l'organo divulgativo delle attività della stazione e di pubblicare i risultati delle ricerche portate avanti in tutti i settori delle science del mare.AttualmenteThalassia Salentinasi inquadra nel panorama editoriale scientifico nazionale, pubblicando lavori relativi all'area geografica del Salento, ma non solo, e coprendo ambiti biologici ed ecologici sia di ambiente terrestre che acquatico, marino e d'acqua dolce. Submissions are first evaluated by the Editors / Board of Directors and by the members of the Editorial Boards. If the manuscript is considered suitable for publication, it is sent to at least two reviewers. The peer review process is double-blind, whereby both referees and authors are kept anonymous. If the reviews are positive, but the manuscript requires to be revised and resubmitted, the author is expected to submit the revised versionPublication decisions by the Editors / Board of Directors are final. Thalassia Salentina provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Thalassia Salentina is published under a Creative Commons Attribution Licence 3.0 (CC-BY-NC-ND) which allows anyone to download, reuse, re-print, modify, distribute and/or copy the final version of the papers.
