Aims & Scope
About the Journal Acta Physica Polonica A (APPA) is an open-access peer-reviewed scientific journal covering broad research, focused on physics. The Publisher of APPA is the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Science in Warsaw (here pencil sketch made by Professor Maciej Nowak). Open access journal in this context means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition of open access. The journal was established by the Polish Physical Society in 1920. Until 1931, it published articles under the name " Comptes Rendus des Séances de la Société Polonaise de Physique ", and from 1932 as " Acta Physica Polonica ". In 1970, Acta Physica Polonica split into two journals Acta Physica Polonica A and Acta Physica Polonica B . Over time, both journals became independent meaning that the Publishers, the name series, and the scopes of the journals are different. Series ' A ' is published by the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, and series ' B ' is published by the Jagiellonian University in cooperation with the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cracov. The scope of the journal Acta Physica Polonica A includes: general physics, atomic and molecular physics, condensed matter physics, optics and quantum optics, biophysics, quantum information, and applied physics. The Editorial Committee and scientific management of the journal are formed by the major Physicists. Their scientific achievements and knowledge guarantee the credibility and correct evaluation of the submitted works.
