These applied aspects can be supported by basic research in biochemistry, plant physiology, biotechnology and genetics. Particular interest is given to articles dealing with plant production with the aim of products with a higher quality and of high importance for human health. Comparisons of sustainable production techniques with the use of conventional, organic and biotechnologically improved crops as well as global social and economic aspects of horticulture may be presented.
