Aims & Scope
The Nucleus is a peer-reviewed quarterly international journal that publishes original research and reviews in the fields of cytogenetics, cell genetics and molecular biology. The journal aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and SDG 15 (Life on Land), and promotes research that contributes to these global priorities through molecular, genetic, and cytological approaches. Focus areas include: Molecular and cytogenetic research enhancing food security, nutritional quality, and sustainable agriculture, with emphasis on genetic improvement of crops and related species (SDG 2). Studies advancing understanding of human diseases, diagnostics, and therapeutics, thereby supporting human health and well-being (SDG 3). Development and dissemination of knowledge and resources that strengthen capacity-building and promote quality education in life sciences (SDG 4). Interdisciplinary research and reviews on renewable and sustainable energy sources (SDG 7). Genetic diversity, genotoxicity, genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, encompassing both fundamental studies and applications including biodiversity conservation and sustainable ecosystem use (SDG 15). Molecular, cytogenetic, and genomic perspectives on evolutionary biology, species diversification, and epigenomic regulation, aimed at deepening our understanding of life’s complexity (SDG 15).
