Aims & Scope
Journal of Glaciology and Geocryologyis a unique academic journal mainly publishing studies and results on snow, ice, frozen ground, cryosphere and global change that have high impact on the economy and development of cold regions. It is aimed to support new ideas, viewpoints, methods and theories in theoretical and applied fields, to promote domestic and international academic exchange, and to strengthen the understanding of the cryosphere and global change. Journal of Glaciology and Geocryologyintends to publish research articles, reports and reviews involving: (1) properties and process of snow, ice and frozen ground (including artificial frozen ground) and their control; (2) resources and environment in the cryosphere; (3) dynamic variations and interactions of components in the cryosphere; (4) the interaction between cryosphere and atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, lithosphere and human activity; (5) hydrology and water resources in cold regions; (6) ecosystem and construction in cold regions; (7) global change; (8) engineering and disaster prevention and mitigation in cold regions; (9) cold region biology; (10) application of advanced techniques to the development and investigation in cold regions. The scope of the journal covers the status quo and trend of glaciology, geocryology and research in cold regions in China. It is a window for foreign scientists to get to know glaciology and geocryology in China.Theinternational standing of the journal is comparable tothatof other international well-known periodicals, for example those published by the International Glaciological Society and the International Permafrost Association. It has published more than 20 papers that won prizesat the State, Province or Ministry level.
