Aims & Scope

Publication Frequency:Bimonthly (Published on the 28th of each odd-numbered month) Petroleum Geology & Experimentis an academic and technical journal which aims to report on achievements in reconnaissance and exploration of oil and gas, and to showcase advancements in petroleum geology and engineering research. The journal focuses closely on the development of China's petroleum industry, as well as hot and challenging issues related to oil and gas exploration in the upstream of the petroleum industry. It also focuses on the latest technologies and methodologies for experimental testing of oil and gas. Our readership mainly includes scientific and technical professionals and researchers in the field of petroleum geology; both within China and globally. The journal consists of four regular columns: Basin Reservoirs, Petroleum Geochemistry, Methods and Techniques, and Fluid-Solid Coupling. Founded in 1963, the journal was originally titled "Experimental Petroleum Geology Abstracts". It temporarily ceased publication from 1967 to 1978, but resumed in 1979 under its new name, "Experimental Petroleum Geology". In 2001, the journal changed to its new title, "Petroleum Geology & Experiment". Petroleum Geology & Experimenthas been indexed as a Core Journal by the following institutions and indices: ŸOutstanding S&T Journals of China,by Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China. ŸWorld Academic Journal Clout Index (WAJCI) Q1 Journal, by the Research Center for China Science Literature Metrology Evaluation.
