Aims & Scope
The criteria for consideration of translational and clinical research in Nature Medicine are originality, timeliness and impact on improving human health by addressing unmet clinical needs. Original research ranges from new concepts in human biology and disease pathogenesis to new therapeutic modalities and drug development, to all phases of clinical work, as well as innovative technologies aimed at improving human health. We consider all types of clinical and health research, including: Case-reports and small case series Clinical trials, whether phase 1, 2, 3 or 4 Observational studies Meta-analyses Biomarker studies Public and global health studies "Hybrid" studies with preclinical and translational findings reported alongside data from clinical studies. Studies can be submitted in any of our content types. To facilitate the preparation of your study, please review our guidelines and reporting requirements. Nature Medicine offers a dedicated track for expedited review and publication for select clinical studies in coordination with presentation in major international clinical conferences and events, as well as of studies of any type with immediate, direct impact to public health.
