Aims & Scope
The Journal of Information Sciences (JIS) places information sciences at the core of its research themes, offering fresh insights into the organization, management, and dissemination of knowledge and data engineering. JIS is a peer-reviewed, biannual journal published by the Information Science School of Morocco. It features refereed, conceptual, and research-based articles, aiming to connect the entire scientific community (including researchers, Ph.D. students, and information and communication professionals) in addressing challenges within information science. JIS is dedicated to original, innovative research covering a broad spectrum of topics related to information science, data science, knowledge management and engineering, and management science. The Editors welcome submissions on any aspect of information science and knowledge management, including, but not limited to: Foundational Concepts: Foundations of Information, Information Theory, Information Behaviors. Data and Web Technologies: Open Data, Open Science, Semantic Web, Ontologies, Information Visualization, Data Mapping, Data Curation. Metrics and Management: Infometrics and Scientometrics, Information Processing and Management, Knowledge Organization, Information Literacy. Societal and Legal Aspects: Economic Impact of Information, Legal Issues Relating to Information, Metadata and Structured Vocabularies, Cultural Informatics and Heritage, Diversity by Design, FATE of Information (Fairness, Accountability, Transparency, Ethics). Emerging Technologies and Applications: Web 2.0 Devices and Services, Digital Humanities, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Human-Computer Interaction, Social Computing, Computational Intelligence, Soft Computing, Network Science, Algorithms and Modelling, Artificial Neural Networks, Expert and Decision Support Systems, Learning and Evolutionary Computing, Biometrics.
