The definition of "boreal" is inclusive and encompasses northern polar, subpolar, and hemiboreal conditions, biomes, and ecosystems. The Arctic is defined as the geographic region surrounding the North Pole. The journal emphasizes a holistic approach in environmental sciences, connecting pressures from sources of pollution to their impacts on the environment through processes in various media. Articles covering monitoring, experimental, theoretical, and modeling studies, as well as combinations of these, are all welcome.
