Aims & Scope
Acta Pharmaceutica Sciencia is an official peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences. The journal serves as an open access platform for the publication of high-quality, interdisciplinary research across all areas of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. The journal publishes original research articles and invited review papers that demonstrate conceptual novelty and scientific rigor. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following: Drug design, discovery, and development, including computational drug design, molecular modeling, and in silico approaches directly contributing to drug development and pharmaceutical innovation; however, submissions consisting solely of in silico data must be integrated with robust experimental evidence to be considered for peer review Pharmacology and pharmacokinetics, encompassing molecular pharmacology, pharmacogenomics, and mechanistic studies with defined therapeutic implications Pharmaceutical technology and drug delivery systems, including advanced formulation strategies, nanotechnology-based delivery platforms, and novel carrier systems Pharmaceutical chemistry and analysis, including advanced analytical method development, validation, and quality evaluation of pharmaceutical products Pharmacognosy and phytochemistry, including nutraceuticals, functional foods, dietary supplements, and bioactivity-guided studies with translational relevance to drug development Pharmaceutical and biochemical toxicology, covering safety and toxicity evaluations of drug candidates, excipients, and natural products; mechanistic studies on adverse drug reactions; and the application of in vitro , in vivo , or in silico toxicological methods in drug development and risk assessment. Clinical and hospital pharmacy, focusing on medication management, rational drug use, therapeutic optimization, and patient-centered pharmaceutical care Regulatory sciences and pharmaceutical biotechnology, including biologics, biosimilars, and advanced pharmaceutical products relevant to pharmaceutical development Nutrition sciences, provided that studies are directly related to and complementary to pharmaceutical sciences; this includes: Nutraceuticals, functional foods, and dietary supplements investigated within a pharmaceutical, pharmacological, or clinical framework Medical nutrition therapies with demonstrated therapeutic relevance Drug–nutrient interactions and their effects on efficacy, safety, and metabolism Submissions in nutrition sciences must: Address biological, biochemical, or molecular mechanisms of action Be supported by robust experimental, translational, or clinical evidence Demonstrate clear relevance to therapeutic outcomes, patient care, or pharmaceutical development Studies outside the scope include: Research limited to general nutritional status assessment Studies focusing solely on consumer behavior, dietary habits, or preferences Descriptive or epidemiological studies lacking a pharmaceutical, pharmacological, or clinical perspective The journal particularly encourages interdisciplinary and translational research that bridges fundamental laboratory findings with pharmaceutical applications. Submissions that are not aligned with pharmaceutical relevance may be declined without external review. Review articles are typically considered by invitation or prior agreement with the editors.
