Hrvatski geografski glasnik objavljuje rezultate izvornih teorijskih i empirijskih geografskih istraživanja, pregledne članke iz svih geografskih disciplina kao i prostorno orijentirane članke iz geoznanosti, drugih srodnih znanosti te interdisciplinarne članke. Poseban naglasak daje se člancima koji obrađuju prostor Hrvatske, Srednje, Južne i Jugoistočne Europe, kao i onima koji se naslanjaju na prethodna istraživanja i tematiku objavljenu u Hrvatskome geografskom glasniku.
