Aims & Scope

ÍCONOSes una revista de ciencias sociales, múltidisciplinaria, de publicación cuatrimestral, fundada en 1997 por la Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales – Sede Ecuador. El objetivo de la revista es estimular un tipo de reflexión que vincule las inquietudes académicas de las ciencias sociales con problemas de la realidad social. La revista está dirigida a la comunidad científica y a quienes se interesen por conocer, ampliar y profundizar, desde perspectivas académicas, temas de debate social, político, cultural y económico de la Región Andina y América Latina en general. Íconos es una publicación arbitrada que utiliza el sistema de revisión externa por expertos (peer-review conforme a las normas de publicación Chicago Deusto https://bit.ly/396GMRv) El cumplimiento de estos requisitos facilita su indexación en las principales bases de datos internacionales, garantizándose una mayor difusión de los artículos publicados y, por lo tanto, de sus autores y centros de trabajo. Íconos está indexada en Scopus, Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) de Web of Science, SciELO Ecuador, REDALYC, Dialnet, DOAJ y en más de 308 bases de datos internacionales, plataformas de evaluación de revistas, directorios selectivos, portales especializados y catálogos hemerográficos de todo el mundo. Adicionalmente, Íconos se ha posicionado en varios rankings que miden el impacto de sus contenidos, ubicándose en el cuartil Q2 del SCImago Journal Rank (SJR), cuartil Q2 de CiteScore de Scopus y en el cuartil Q3 del Journal Citation Report (JCR). La revista se edita en doble versión: impresa (ISSN: 1390-1249) y electrónica (e-ISSN: 1390-8065) en español (www.revistaiconos.ec), además de interfaz, títulos, resúmenes y palabras clave en inglés y portugués.
