Aims & Scope
Índex, Revista de Arte Contemporáneo is a publication edited by the Visual Arts Program of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador. With a bimonthly frequency, it is dedicated to research, critical analysis, and reflection on visual arts. Its purpose is to foster thought and debate from a perspective situated in Latin America, addressing the complexity of the contemporary artistic field in dialogue with diverse disciplines and contexts. Aimed at academic and artistic communities and the public interested in deepening their understanding of art practices and discourses, Índex is published in electronic and web format, consolidating itself as a referential platform for the study and dissemination of art at the local and regional level. The journal structures its content around thematic axes including: art and education, art history and criticism, reviews of publications and exhibitions, collecting and the art market, art and new media, aesthetic thought, visual studies, and visual essay. With an approach that combines research rigor and openness to new perspectives, Índex seeks to contribute to the dialogue on contemporary art, strengthening the exchange of ideas and experiences among creators, researchers, and specialized audiences.
