Aims & Scope
Studia mythologica Slavica is an international scientific journal dedicated to mythology, spiritual culture, and tradition not only of Slavic but also of other peoples and nations. It is published by the Institute of Slovenian Ethnology in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the University of Udine. The journal is intended for interdisciplinary research, and one of its main goals is to present comparative research that defines and characterizes Slavic culture in relation to the broader European and non-European world. The journal encourages the study of religious beliefs of older Slavic, Eurasian, and other civilizations, as well as contemporary phenomena in the field of spiritual, social, and material culture and its transformations. It has an international and interdisciplinary character and is thematically interesting for the fields of ethnology, history, archaeology, linguistics, religious studies, literary history, and philosophy. It also brings new interpretations of sources and presentations of new discoveries, materials, and field research.
