Aims & Scope
Al’Adalah: Journal of Islamic Studies is a double-anonymous, peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research articles and critical analyses on contemporary issues at the intersection of Islamic ethics, digital transformation, social justice, environmental sustainability, and contemporary Islamic thought in Muslim societies and global contexts. The journal covers the following areas: 1. Islam and Contemporary Muslim Societies 2. Religious Authority and Contemporary Public Spheres 3. Islamic Perspectives on Technology Ethics and Artificial Intelligence 4. Data Ethics, Privacy, and Public Governance 5. Islamic Philosophy, Ethics, and Contemporary Moral Thought 6. Social Justice in the Digital Age 7. Gender, Participation, and Religious Literacy 8. Islam and Environmental Sustainability 9. Islamic Governance and Policy Innovation 10. Comparative and Global Studies on Islam, Technology, and Justice. Al’Adalah: Journal of Islamic Studies places special emphasis on contributions that: a. Articulate clear ethical, legal, and social implications of Islam in contemporary digital-ecological transformations; b. Demonstrate strong theoretical framing and/or methodological rigour (including empirical and case-study designs); and c. Engage interdisciplinary and cross-regional conversations with globally relevant scholarly contributions.
