Aims & Scope

Estuaries and Coasts focuses on publishing research on ecosystems at the interface between the land and the sea where there are tidal fluctuations or sea water is diluted by fresh water. The official journal of the Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation (CERF). Publishes research on physical, chemical, geological or biological systems, as well as applications to management of those ecosystems. Covers estuaries and nearshore coastal waters, including lagoons, wetlands, tidal fresh water, shores, and beaches. Accepts original research, reviews and perspectives, techniques, comments, and management applications. Features topical collections and articles on key topics. Encourages submissions that support and advance the UN's sustainable development goals, specifically SDG 14 Life Below Water and SDG 15 Life on Land.
