Aims & Scope

Journal of Elasticity is a scholarly publication that promotes mechanics as a fundamental and applied science and is committed to communicating significant discoveries in the physical and mathematical science of solids. Reports original research in linear elasticity, nonlinear elasticity, and deformation coupled to heat and mass transport, chemical reactions, and electromagnetism. Includes studies of material defects, phase transformations, fracture, plasticity, scale effects, homogenization, discrete-to-continuum coarse-graining, and dimensional reduction. Publishes full research papers, research notes, historical essays, classroom notes that serve as effective teaching materials, and review articles. Features occasional dedicated collections of invited papers in emerging/cross-disciplinary areas such as chemomechanics, biomechanics, optomechanics, geomechanics, and polymer science. Offers free full colour printing and the possibility to publish papers open access.
