Aims & Scope
Periférica Internacional. Revista para el análisis de la cultura y el territorio is a pioneering journal in Andalusia, the first specialized in cultural analysis, founded in 2000. Since 2013, the journal adopted the subtitle INTERNACIONAL with the sponsorship of the Cultural Observatory of the Atalaya Project. Periférica Internacional has been awarded in the modality of Cultural Research in the Andalucía de la Cultura Awards, 2025. PERIFéRICA is an initiative that emerges from Southern Europe with the aim of providing peripheral visions on socio-cultural phenomena. PERIFéRICA is necessary because cultural workers and volunteers tend to be peripheral in their uses and attitudes and must regain a central role. PERIFéRICA is, in short, the place where all these issues can be discussed, reasoned, and debated. The journal PERIFéRICA has an annual periodicity, with issues published every January. PERIFéRICA has the collaboration of external evaluators external to its editorial team. Periférica is a space open whose objective is to promote the reflection of knowledge and the analysis of culture, as well as to facilitate debate in cultural management and the participation and feedback of outstanding specialists in culture and cultural management, through its different sections and editorial lines, which include texts that contribute knowledge to cultural management in its broadest sense, both on heritage, museums, tourism, performing arts or ethnology. All articles published in Periférica are original and unpublished and must not be submitted simultaneously for publication in any other journal. Likewise, they must belong to the cultural field. Research articles, opinion articles, creations and essays are accepted. Periférica has an annual periodicity and its main objective is to contribute to the research and analysis of culture and territory, to the training of cultural managers, as well as to disseminate original studies derived from research, theoretical reflections, debates, essays and critical reviews on topics related to cultural management studies in general and areas of sociology, territory, philosophy, art, education and research in particular. Periférica includes two types of sections: one with restricted publication to articles on demand aimed at writers, journalists, cultural managers, professors and researchers (Chronicles, Monographs, Topics, Interviews...) and another with an open call, divided in turn into two sections: Experiences and Ópera Prima, aimed at promoting the research and contributions of specialists who develop their activities and research in the cultural management sector and Degree, Master and Doctorate students who wish to present an article arising from their training processes. The Editorial Council will evaluate the works and decide, ultimately, which is the most appropriate for each publication. Periférica Internacional. Revista para el análisis de la cultura y el Territorio allows free and open access to all its content.
