Aims & Scope

Psychotherapie-Wissenschaft serves the ongoing and sustainable development of psychotherapy with scientific contributions to psychotherapeutic practice and research. It addresses current questions and problems and promotes interdisciplinary exchange on fundamental issues such as indication, methodology, efficiency, etc. The journal is characterized by its openness to all psychotherapeutic directions, such as psychoanalysis, client-centered psychotherapy, behavioral therapy, Gestalt therapy, body psychotherapy, logotherapy, psychodrama, systemic therapy, family therapy, child and adolescent therapy, group psychoanalysis, dynamic group psychotherapy, katathymic imagery, hypnotherapy, etc. Contributions from all areas of psychotherapy are published. Submitted works undergo a review process by international reviewers. The journal Psychotherapie-Wissenschaft is regularly indexed in the abstract database PsycInfo of the American Psychological Association (APA), in the Directory of Open Journals (DOAJ), and in the publication databases PSYNDEX and PsychArchives of the Leibniz Institute for Psychology (ZPID). Psychotherapie-Wissenschaft is the successor publication to the journal Psychotherapie-Forum, previously published by Springer-Verlag. From 2013 to 2017, it was published by the Swiss Charter for Psychotherapy, a division of the Association of Swiss Psychotherapists (ASP). Since 2017, it has been published by Psychosozial-Verlag. The common, cross-school publication organ enables interdisciplinary engagement with fundamental topics of psychotherapy at a high level. It includes original articles, case studies, interdisciplinary projects, reviews, and conference reports. All issues are accessible in Open Access.
