Telar
Universidad Nacional de Tucumán · Argentina · Est. 2024
Aims & Scope
Revista Telar is a semiannual publication of the Instituto Interdisciplinario de Estudios Latinoamericanos (IIELA) of the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of the Universidad Nacional de Tucumán, Argentina. Since its first issue (2004) it has published works by national and foreign researchers concerned with Latin American literatures and cultures from historiography, criticism, and literary and cultural theory. The articles are submitted to the peer review of qualified external evaluators. Telar is the first print and web journal of the UNT that has brought together all the debates of the Instituto Interdisciplinario de Estudios Latinoamericanos over these years. The realization of this institutional project was due to the need to create a space from Tucumán about Latin America. Among the broad research areas we propose to address are: 1) The history and criticism of literary and cultural manifestations in general that, from the colonial past to the present day, are linked to the problem of integration and fragmentation in the Latin American region; 2) The critical analysis of new paradigms of cultural, literary, and socio-scientific studies, and of new and old Latin Americanist discourses, as well as their reception-recreation in Tucumán, Argentina, and Latin America; 3) The study of the problematic of historical, cultural, and literary memories and the different moments of religitation, taking into account, in particular, variables such as political violence and gender; and 4) The critical analysis of current projects of practical cultural intervention in the Latin American sphere: constitution of networks, Latin American chairs, projects, and exchanges. We consider it necessary to work on culture, society, history, and literature in an interdisciplinary way, taking into account these central issues.
