BMC Biology is a selective journal of the BMC series, publishing research and commissioned content across all areas of biology. Our in-house professional editors work with an Editorial Board of international experts to assess papers with a publication policy that combines selection for broad interest and importance. Our commitment to serve authors and the community well underlies policies such as scoop protection, portable peer review, consideration of manuscripts already posted to preprint servers, flexible formatting, and a range of article types that includes Registered Reports.
