Suomen tribologiayhdistys tukee maassamme tapahtuvaa tribologian alan tutkimusta, teknistä kehitystä sekä koulutusta. Yhdistys parantaa tribologisen tietouden käyttöönottoa suomalaisessa teollisuudessa sekä yhteiskunnassa ja ylläpitää kansainvälisiä kontakteja ulkomaisiin alan yhteisöihin. Yhdistys julkaisee TRIBOLOGIA - Finnish Journal for Tribology -lehteä.
