Aims & Scope

Historie — Otázky — Problémyis abiannualjournal published by Faculty of Arts Press, Charles University. Based on the specialist orientation of the Institute of History of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, theHistorie — Otázky — Problémyprofile thematically focuses on the history of the Czech lands and Central Europe, from the early Middle Ages down to contemporary history. Individual studies are to cover a broad range of topical historical subjects, both involving political, cultural, social and economic history and the history of historiography, current developments in the methodology of historical studies and issues associated with the didactics of history. In all these areas the journal operates not only along the latest historiographical lines, but also and in particular in broader interdisciplinary collaboration with other humanities subjects (e.g. auxiliary historical studies, the history of art, Czech studies, philosophy, philological fields, sociology, Jewish studies and the like). Individual issues are complemented with the usual research service in the form of reviews, annotations and news from Czech and foreign conferences. Since 2015 HOP is anOpen Accessjournal with online content freely available to the readers under theCreative Commonslicense. Full articles are available on the internet to all readers immediately upon publication and their further non-commercial use and distribution in any medium is permitted, provided the author and the journal are properly credited.

A twelfth criterion — whether APC fees are clearly disclosed — is not scored here; it is left out of the total rather than counted as a failure. Publication charges appear in the metrics card above.
