Aims & Scope

Poslovna izvrsnost – Business Excellence is an international, double-anonymized, peer-reviewed scholarly journal that publishes theoretical and empirical research on business performance, quality, and organizational excellence across sectors and regional contexts , with particular emphasis on the application, adaptation, and evolution of globally recognized frameworks within Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Aims and Scope The journal focuses on how established frameworks such as EFQM, ISO-based quality systems, ESG standards, and lean methodologies are applied and embedded through leadership, organizational learning, and digital transformation. It welcomes both conceptual and empirical studies, with an emphasis on work that demonstrates how such frameworks enhance performance, support quality improvement, and foster sustained excellence across diverse sectors. We welcome submissions addressing both private and public organizations in sectors such as manufacturing, services, public administration, healthcare, education, energy, finance, and digital platforms. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to: Digital Transformation and Innovation Research on technology-enabled change in organizations and innovation ecosystems, including organizational readiness for AI, the strategic deployment of digital platforms and cross-sectoral innovations. Strategic Performance and Excellence Frameworks Design, implementation, and adaptation of performance systems and excellence models across sectors, with emphasis on strategy execution, value creation, measurement and frameworks such as EFQM. Leadership and Organizational Development Leadership behavior, learning processes, talent systems, and organizational culture as drivers of performance and transformation. Quality Management Systems and Process Improvement Development, integration and impact of quality systems, their alignment with sustainability , governance aspects, and the effects of standards and audits. Sustainability and ESG Evolution Research on how organizations conceptualize and implement sustainability and ESG responsibilities, including strategy and the design and development of ESG frameworks and organizational capabilities for responsible business. We welcome empirical and conceptual research that demonstrates analytical depth and contextual relevance. This includes quantitative, qualitative, comparative, case-based, and mixed-methods approaches. The journal encourages interdisciplinary perspectives and cross-domain insights. The journal is intended for scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers interested in these areas, particularly those working within or focusing on the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) context.
