Aims & Scope
The Slovenian Journal of Public Health (SJPH), originally established as Zdravstveno varstvo in 1962 and published by the National Institute of Public Health Slovenia, is a quarterly, peer-reviewed scientific journal publishing in English since 2014. SJPH serves as a premier platform for disseminating rigorously reviewed, high-quality research in public health, with an exclusive focus on Slovenia, Central and Southeast Europe. SJPH publishes only original research articles, systematic reviews, study protocols, and invited editorials. The journal aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and the exchange of innovative ideas addressing regional and global public health challenges. Its scope encompasses a broad range of topics, including primary care, disease prevention and control, health promotion, environmental and occupational health, health systems organization and management, and socio-economic determinants of health. The journal does not consider manuscripts lacking a public health perspective or those addressing geographic regions beyond Central and Southeast Europe. By prioritizing research that informs policy and practice, SJPH contributes to the advancement of population health, health equity, and evidence-based solutions relevant to its target region and beyond.
