Aims & Scope

The most acclaimed and accomplished series in neuroscience — from the world's leading publisher in the neurosciences. Since the publication of the first volume "Brain Mechanisms" (Moruzzi/Fessard/Jasper, 1963), the original aims of the series have remained consistent: To record the state-of-the-art in specific neuroscience topics To present the most up-to-date research results To indicate promising paths for future research This ongoing series has become firmly established as an extensive documentation of advances in contemporary brain research. The volumes, some derived from important international symposia, contain authoritative reviews and original articles by invited specialists. Rigorous editing ensures that the volumes appeal to all laboratory and clinical brain research workers across various disciplines: neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neuropharmacology, neuroendocrinology, neuropathology, basic neurology, biological psychiatry, and the behavioral sciences. Some of the earliest volumes of PIBR, dating back to 1963, remain highly cited and accessible today.
