Aims & Scope

Archiwa – Kancelarie – Zbiory is intended for the presentation of research results on past and contemporary archives and chanceries in the territories of states that were part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth until the end of the 18th century. It is therefore particularly aimed at researchers of chancery and archival matters in Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, and Germany, viewed in a cultural, universal, and comparative context. The subject matter of AKZ's documents and archival materials is perceived in the context of cultural heritage in general. Archival resources are seen as part of collections gathered by humans as social beings, including library and museum collections, to satisfy their diverse needs – evidentiary, memory, knowledge, ideology, and even entertainment.
