Aims & Scope
Al-Adabiya: Jurnal Kebudayaan dan Keagamaan ~ Journal of Culture and Religion is a peer-reviewed, international journal dedicated to the critical examination of the complex intersections between religious traditions and cultural dynamics. Published by LP2M Insuri Ponorogo, Indonesia, the journal serves as a global forum for scholars to explore how religion shapes, and is shaped by, local and global cultural contexts, with a particular (but not exclusive) interest in the Southeast Asian Islamic experience. Our primary objective is to bridge the gap between theological studies and the social sciences. We seek to publish original, high-quality research that moves beyond purely descriptive accounts, offering instead deep analytical insights into: The evolution of religious practices in contemporary society. The dialogue between traditional values and modern cultural transformations. The role of religious institutions in shaping social and political landscapes. We welcome interdisciplinary submissions (including but not limited to anthropology, sociology, history, philosophy, and literature) that address the following core thematic areas: Religious Pluralism & Local Wisdom: Analysis of indigenous, religious cultures and their relationship with global developments. Religion & Social Justice: Research on ethics, human rights, and the role of faith-based communities in addressing global challenges. Media, Technology, and Religion: The impact of digital culture and new media on religious identity and ritual. Socio-Religious Education: Critical perspectives on the pedagogy of religion within diverse cultural frameworks. Gender and Religion: Exploring the intersectional identities of gender within various religious and cultural hierarchies.
