The journal focuses on multilingual and multicultural education and language acquisition for an international audience. The journal publishes primarily in the area(s): Multilingual Education: Theories and Practices and CLIL; Language Policy Planning and its Importance from the perspective of Multicultural Education and Second Language Teaching; Second/Foreign Language Teaching Methods and Strategies; Key issues surrounding Intercultural/multicultural Education; Distance/Online Teaching and Multimedia and Second Language Teaching/Acquisition; Linguistics; Classroom management for diverse classrooms and language teaching. Sociocultural and pragmatic aspects of language teaching.

A twelfth criterion — whether APC fees are clearly disclosed — is not scored here; it is left out of the total rather than counted as a failure. Publication charges appear in the metrics card above.
