Aims & Scope

La Madrugá is a scientific journal for the publication and dissemination of original research works that approach flamenco from any perspective, whether from the musical aspect (dance, singing, guitar or other instruments), or from a historical, literary, journalistic, sociological, philosophical, performative or anthropological perspective. It is a journal published by the University of Murcia and Editum (the university's publishing service) with open access (it does not charge subscription for reading nor applies APCs for the publication of articles to readers or authors) following open science criteria. All published volumes, as well as publication rules, subscription, and the composition of the editorial board and section editors can be consulted on its website. The journal is managed using the OJS v. 3.3 system with the support of the University of Murcia Publishing Service. Peer review is conducted anonymously, thus ensuring impartiality in the selection and evaluation process of submitted manuscripts. Article titles, abstracts, and keywords are also published in English, to facilitate its international projection. The journal publishes original works, as well as reviews and abstracts of research works from any of the different sectors and areas related to flamenco. The Editorial Committee will consider the interest of the texts to be published and their scientific and academic rigor in their approach and development. Among its main objectives are: To publish original research works that contribute to the knowledge and dissemination of flamenco from various theoretical and methodological perspectives. To promote the consolidation of an academic community specialized in flamenco in its various expressions, fostering the exchange of ideas and reflections among researchers. To serve as a platform for the dissemination of studies on flamenco, both from a historical point of view and considering its current relevance. To guarantee scientific excellence through a rigorous peer review process, ensuring the quality and relevance of published articles. To promote the visibility and recognition of creative and research work in the field of flamenco, offering an accessible and reference space for the dissemination and broad knowledge of these studies. With a firm commitment to rigorous research and knowledge dissemination, Revista de Investigación sobre Flamenco "La madrugá" welcomes original works characterized by their scientific orientation and contribution to the field of study.
