The contributions inStichprobenare aimed at both a scientific audience as well as a general interested public. The articles in the journal concern both Africa and its diaspora, with many contributionscrossing the boundaries of individual disciplines. The contributions focus on African history, politics, languages and literatures. The journal publishes original research articles, as well as review articles, book reviews and occasional papers.Stichprobenprovides a platform for interdisciplinary exchange among scholars of different backgrounds and origins and allow authors to publish in anumber of languageslike German, English, French, and Swahili. TheStichprobeneditorial team is particularly eager tosupport young scholarsin their research and publication activities. The journal is a medium to enhance the visibility of the disciplines of African Studies. Since its founding in the year 2001,Stichprobenfollows anopen access policy. Articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). All articles are published online open access without time delay and can be accessed via the website without a registration process and are iavailable available for download as PDF files on our homepage. Long-term archiving is accomplished by using the PHAIDRA service of the University of Vienna. We are looking forward to reviewing your articles or proposals for special issues as guest editors.
