Aims & Scope

The journal publishes articles on various aspects of zoological research; articles on systematics, taxonomy, and faunistics are particularly welcome. The appearance of the journal was driven by the high demand from zoological researchers for a periodic scientific publication capable of reducing the deficit of opportunities to publish research results at a high scientific level with high-quality printing. Over time, the journal has taken its place among biological publications and is currently one of the specialized zoological journals. Over the past period, 12 volumes of the journal have been published, with four issues per year, and more than 500 articles have been published. The authors are well-known Russian scientists and foreign colleagues from the USA, China, Japan, Iran, Germany, and other countries. The thematic scope of the articles fully justifies the journal's concept – the publication of works on a wide range of topical issues in zoology. At the same time, dozens of articles have been published in the journal dedicated to problems of systematics and taxonomy – over 300 taxonomic acts have been established in the journal's pages, many new taxa and ichnotaxa have been described, and major reviews of individual taxonomic groups have been presented, including those covering the world fauna. A feature of the "Amur Zoological Journal" is the bilingualism of publications: articles can be published in Russian or English. At the same time, the titles of articles, abstracts, names and addresses of authors, and captions for tables and figures are always given in two languages, which allows the journal to be understood by researchers from different countries. The "Amur Zoological Journal" is included in the RSCI citation system and has a consistently high impact factor. In 2018, the journal was included in the core of the RSCI and in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI). The journal is supplied to the largest libraries and specialized scientific institutions in the country and the world. Descriptions of new animal taxa are registered in the international database Zoological Record and on the Zoobank service. The journal, under the transliterated title "Amurskii Zoologicheskii Zhurnal," is represented in the Web of Science Master Journal List.
