La Revista Mexicana de Ciencias Forestales tiene la misión de difundir entre la comunidad científica nacional e internacional resultados de investigación en ciencias forestales y afines para contribuir al desarrollo sustentable del país. Es una publicación editada por el Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Forestales, Agrícolas y Pecuarias . La revista orienta sus esfuerzos a ser una publicación científica especializada con liderazgo y reconocimiento nacional e internacional por su alta capacidad para difundir resultados de investigación en ciencias forestales y afines; así como por su inclusión en los principales índices de impacto científico, derivada de la alta calidad tanto de sus contenidos como en su gestión del proceso editorial y por el prestigio de su comité editorial, además de satisfacer parámetros de oportunidad, accesibilidad y visibilidad.
