هدف از انتشار مجله صنایع چوب و کاغذ ایران افزایش توان علمی پژوهشگران، استادان، دانشجویان به مسایل نوین علوم و صنایع چوب و کاغذ است. در این نشریه نتایج و دستاوردهای پژوهشی جدید محققان محترم در زمینه‌های بیولوژی و آناتومی چوب، حفاظت و اصلاح چوب، فرآورده های چوبی و مهندسی شده، فناوری برش و ماشینکاری چوب و فراورده های چوبی، نانوفناوری در چوب و کاغذ، تکنولوژی تهیه خمیرکاغذ و کاغذ، شیمی چوب، اقتصاد و بازاریابی چوب، مهندسی مبلمان پس از داوری منتشر می‌شود. چشم انداز مجله : کمک به پیشرفت و گسترش علوم چوب و کاغذ انتشار تازه‌ترین نتایج پژوهش های انجام شده توسط گروه‌های پژوهشی در دانشگاه‌ها و مراکز پژوهشی تحقق بخشیدن به برنامه ها و طرح‌های ملی در زمینۀ توسعه علوم چوب و کاغذ ایجاد ارتباط علمی مناسب و همکاری و همسویی بین دانشگاه ها و مراکز پژوهشی عرصه‌­ای برای تبادل افکار و اطلاعات در مجامع علمی - پژوهشی و دانشجویی کشور
