Vilnius University Press · Lithuania · Est. 2011
Aims & Scope
Social Welfare : Interdisciplinary Approach is a peer-reviewed open access journal that publishes original articles, critical reviews, research notes in the interdisciplinary area of social, education, health, environment, and other sciences. Interdisciplinarity is encouraged, developing social capital and sharing knowledge that covers a wide range of areas: from social education services to social networks, to the development of models of public management that engage individuals in meeting emerging challenges and ensure the welfare of people and society. The main objective is to encourage researchers to publish interdisciplinary experimental and theoretical research relating the empowerment, equality and inclusion of various groups in society and their individual members, ensuring the successful solutions of different problems related to social welfare. Pointing out another common value with the statement by Elster "History is the result of human activity not of ideas" we would like to explain not only the circumstances under which the journal appeared but also ensure that we would strive for the unity of science and practice, so that the research presented in the journal has distinct methodological direction – orientation towards the development of social welfare in the society. Leading researchers are invited to be guest editors that build a community of authors and readers through Special Issues which discuss the latest research and develop new ideas and research directions connected with social welfare in many areas of our life.
